Preparing For Your Appointment

Getting ready for toenail fungus removal treatment is quick and easy. No complicated special preparation is required.
Here are four steps you can take to prepare for your PinPointe™ FootLaser™ toenail fungus removal treatment:

Step One:

Step One:

Take Off Your Toenail Polish
We all like the sleek and sexy look of freshly painted toenails, but for laser toenail treatment, bare toenails are best! A layer of nail polish makes it harder for the Laser to fully penetrate your toenail and treat the toenail fungal infection below.
For maximum effectiveness, remove all toenail polish (including clear polish) before your session. Toenails should be clean and unpolished for the toenail laser treatment.

Step Two:

Step Two:

Trim Your Toenails
Trim your toenails to the shortest point you comfortably and safely can. If someone trims your toenails for you, schedule an appointment with them a day or two before your nail laser treatment and ask them to cut your toenails short. Long toenails can harbor dirt and bacteria; clean, short toenails are best when receiving a procedure like the laser treatment.

Step Three:

Step Three:

Control Irritation and Inflammation
Topical over-the-counter toenail fungus remedies can be used to reduce any irritation, inflammation or discomfort that you may experience in the days leading up to your laser toenail treatment. Anti-fungal gels or creams are applied around the sides of the nail, as well as on the nail’s surface. These topical treatments can provide temporary relief for the itching, burning pain associated with toenail fungal infections.
